DIRT ROAD cottage is a continuation of what chef + grower Phoebe Cole-Smith and her crew began in their previous chapter at DIRT ROAD FARM, with a focus on the very freshest, sustainable, seasonal and local food sourced, gathered, grown and prepared — only now on a different dirt road on the island of chappaquiddick.
with her history of creating intimate communal barn suppers and memorable private celebrations of the northeast’s abundant bounty, developing seasonally inspired recipes, and organizing cooking, entertaining, preserving + photo/styling workshops, Cole-Smith’s food is ingredient-driven, sourced from local farmers, fishers, makers (and before long her own gardens, again) — and all of her endeavors strive to connect people, whether in-person or remotely, with the ultimate in taste, freshness and simple seasonal farm-to-table fare.
with DIRT ROAD cottage, while we plan to once again in time offer patrons an actual seat at an actual communal farm table or hands-on participation in an inspiring instructional workshop, we will very soon also be offering a virtual entrance into phoebe’s local + seasonal “tiny atlas” through a monthly subscription to her field notes, recipes and tips by way of Dispatch from DIRT ROAD cottage, coming in early spring 2022.
